Building a miniature world

Sofiero castle is a small castle in the south of Sweden. It is surrounded by the most magnificent garden and has since it was given to the city of Helsingborg by the king, been a popular forit´s inhabitants aswell as a much visited tourist attraction. Until the 70´s it was the summer recidency of the swedish king.

The castle has been undergoing big renovations to make it ac for the public, indoors as well as outdoors. The plans included a new permanent exhibition , for which I got commisioned to build four rooms of the castle in 1:12, the way the rooms looked when the castle was inherited by the peopole of Helsingborg in mid 70s.

Some highlights from the production

It has been a great pleasure to work with this project. It was also challenging and I learned many new things, about materials and woodworking.
